Avalon House is a beautiful and recently renovated historic 1895 building (formerly the mine manager's residence). It sits on an acre of gardens running down to the Ovens River.
It offers three different styles of accommodation, a one-bedroom traditional style cottage with garden (Avalon Retreat), a more modern two-bedroom unit with courtyard garden and spa bath (Avalon Rest) and "Wearyall", our 8 person "budget style" (so-called only because it sleep eight at very reasonable rates). It has easy access to ski fields and the walking trails of the Victorian Alps.
All parts of Harrietville are within walking distance, with both pub and general store about a two minute walk. It also has an easy access to ski fields and the walking trails of the Victorian Alps. The Ovens River runs along the bottom of the Avalon grounds.
.
The main building includes a licensed cafe/bar, an art gallery featuring local artists, 4 meeting/function rooms ( the largest holding up to 50/60 people) and a full serviced office with internet, copying, colour printing etc. Future plans include additional accommodation, spa and sauna and studio.
All facilities are open to the public and inquiries can be made via the form on this website or by calling us
